So over Christmas I treated myself to a 2nd hand Samsung gear VR headset for my new work phone. Always been really interested in this technology and had been surprised that no one I know had already given it a go. With so many unwanted sets on gumtree I went in with pretty low expectations but have to say I have been totally blown away. I don't get why this isn't a thing now, if you have a galaxy s6 or s7 I'd say first thing tomorrow go out and buy one of these headsets, unbelievable value for the price. The last few days I have been having great time wowing friends and family, the 'Face your fears' app is particularly engaging (or hilarious depending if you are the wearing the headset or pissing your pants watching someones reactions). Anyone else here had a go with it?

What's the porn quality like?
( I'm asking on behalf of a friend )

@MN5 straight to the porn question aye? No discussion about real life application in human connectivity and education? Why is it everyone's first question? Bloody appalling!
...two words 'intense' and 'gamechanger', so I've heard from a friend of a friend...

This looks interesting. https://www.zerolatencyvr.com
Fully immersive vr where you can actually walk around with 6 friends in a warehouse shooting up zombies. The reviews are very positive, might start hitting up some mates tonight and see if I can get a crew -
I played some racing games on a good oculus rift system recently (including racing seat, force feedback thrustmaster wheel etc). That was incredible but not really an affordable option. The PC specs alone make it difficult to justify.
I picked up the PS4 Pro and a PSVR a couple of days ago. The experience is still pretty good for a fraction of the cost.
Obviously driving games work well for static VR but I suspect there will be a revival in rail shooters over the next year or so. London Heist was a good tech demo.. being able to lean out of a moving car and shoot motorcycles as they come up behind you.
I've never been a fan of Resident Evil games but the demo does put you on edge and is genuinely creepy. In 2d, despite the far better graphics, you just don't get that sensation.
Probably had the most fun on trackmania so far. Driveclub VR is enjoyable but the devs took the easy option and dropped the resolution too low
Oh and the Star Wars battlefront mission was immersive. Its a great sensation when you are flying an x-wing, glance backwards at your R2 unit and then a star destroyer flys over your head
