I also have the temerity to believe that Eric Clapton is about as far from God as is humanly possible.
A bit severe, but I know what you're getting at - Eric just gets a bit boring pretty quick.
For some real heresy, and don't get me wrong - I really like a lot of Jimi Hendrix - but, the further he gets into some of his wailing distorted guitar solos, the more they just sound like noise to me.
-
Just to keep it local, I have a lot of time for Dave Dobbyn, hate hate hated DD Smash. That piston wristed gibbon who played drums, Rooter or whatever his name was - I refuse to google it cause I just know he's the type of drittsekk that cares about these things - irritated me no end.
That is all, as you were.

Hendrix to me is the equivalent of Don Bradman compared to the rest. I hear what you're saying but NO ONE even thought of doing the crazy shit he did first.....totally changed rock guitar.

Adele is not made for me, so don't care about her at all, and never have to listen to it. Likewise Coldplay is bland soft rock, the whole thing is not really me, so pretty easy to avoid.
Yeah, it's not the exact theme of the thread but a good oppotunity to have a quick bitch about how irritating she is.
If anyone brings Tool into this conversation they are dead to me.
I forgot about Tool.
Ah well, I've had a rich fulfilling life.....

A useful analogy - as a NZer, I would have wanted to see Bradman make a hundred - but, then get him out. No need to rack up 300 against us Don!

Drittsekk? Snakker du norsk?

I was big on the Grunge scene and loved Pearl Jam, Nirvana etc etc.
"I was so Grunge" that when I heard 'MMM MMM MMM' by Crash Test Dummies I zipped out and purchased the album! Woah was I gutted. In saying that I do like MMM MMM MMM MMM and one of their other songs that escapes me at the moment

You're so mainstream right now Hooroo......
@SammyCs description of Dire Straits is ridiculously apt. I take exception to him dissing the Grohlster though....

Anything at all by Pink Floyd. "Yeah I'm just smoking some bad Tibetan skunk oil but I'm not quite comatose yet. Can you play something to put me to sleep?"
Pink Floyd is a funny one. As if you listen to a lot of their album at the wrong time, then you are damn right. But some of their stuff, just really works.
- Comfortably Numb. One of the best song / solo combos ever
- Wish You Were Here.
- Dark Side Of The Moon. At the risk of sounding all pothead/bullshit/whacko .. that album really is a journey. After a stressful day, pouring a steaming hot bath (or sitting in a jacuzzi) and then having the room quite dark, with that album start to finish .. is one of the best things ever. No narcotics required.

@MajorRage Time is my favourite PF song, love it.
-
@mariner4life That is a great song, undoubtedly, but even on that album, i'd put it behind Us and Them
-
Almost anything on the Top 40
I looked at this list and was amazed at how many I'd skip if it was on Spotify or change the radio.
