I heard myself then, ive turned into half of you lot.

😲 what pronoun do you want us to use?

Second Lol of the day. Well done.

At least half of us are Polish chicks so "she" should be O.K. just as a generalisation? My pronoun protocol may not be up to date though.

In the summer of 1994/95, my parents decided to do a road trip from Dunedin up to Auckland for Xmas. With one sister already having left home, and the other on exchange in Finland, 15yo me had the back seat of our 1986 Toyota Corona to myself. After taking SH1 all the way north, we took our time coming home via the BOP, around East Cape and down through Shield Snorters.

Anyway, I tore through packets of AA batteries listening to cassettes on my Walkman, and the one that I could listen to over and over was Crowded House's Together Alone. Still my favourite CH album to this day.

Others on high rotate for me on my 3-CD player and later my 25+1 CD player/stero were:

Radiohead - The Bends Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Stone Temple Pilots - Purple Jimi Hendrix - The Ultimate Experience The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation Gomez - Bring It On Chemical Brothers - Surrender

That is a cracking selection of music. Radiohead's best album for me.

i love watching a commercial kitchen. Sat next to an open one in St Kilda a couple of years back. I was fascinated by their hot plate. Over actual coals, on a pully system so they moved it up and down depending on what they were cooking. It was awesome.

Fucking great meal too from memory (i also drank a skinfull)

@crucial So far, Skinny is the only one I've hit that says VDSL is available with them.

Of course, the question is, whether that is actually true - but, it gives them an inside track.

That’s hilarious as Skinny is just a brand of Spark.

    FFS!!! 🙂

One of my favourite actors. Real screen presence and could play a huge range of roles.

@taniwharugby And just over the way is Mermaid Pools, beautiful but with a rahui on them because they’ve been trashed after thousands of tourists came with internet fame. A little further round is pebbly beach, one of the best just walk in snorkelling spots to take the kids, a load of fish and rays. then there’s Whale Bay, Sandy’s etc etc.

Ten years today. Wow. Horrible loss of life, a vastly changed city scape and so many different individual stories of the day. Feel free to share yours.

I was early for a haircut at Settlers Crescent in Ferrymead so was parked up on the side of the road, looking at my phone (maybe work emails but just as likely I was on Facebook). It suddenly started shaking violently. A side to side motion mostly from memory. I could see street lamps swaying. This lasted for a while but I don't think it seemed all that long whereas others recall it seeming to last for ages. Cracks opened up in asphalt footpaths and driveways but I think the road at that stage was ok. I pulled up into the driveway of my hairdresser where they'd all come outside. Ladies had foils and colour in their hair. There were lots of tears.

The Boy had Garage Band for his Macbook. Given that a shot? He successfully coordinated one of the Dwarf songs from The Hobbit using himself as 5 bass vocal parts + 1 guitar...

He's got student access to the full Adobe Suite now of course, so is doing his music, stage production, and multimedia with that.

Haven't tried recording to it. He messed around with it years ago on ipad, haven't had a go since he has started getting serious.

SWIFT sets up JV with China's central bank

SHANGHAI, Feb 4 (Reuters) - SWIFT, the global system for financial messaging and cross-border payments, has set up a joint venture with the Chinese central bank’s digital currency research institute and clearing centre, in a sign that China is exploring global use of its planned digital yuan.

@Higgins in the interests of justice I always feel that the family shouldn't have any input.

I must say I'm surprised at the sentence. This individual seems beyond redemption and as strange as it may seem given my previous occupation, I've always been opposed to the death sentence. People like him are making me reconsider that stance.
